Argyll Safaris is based in Connel, near Oban. We offer a variety of routes but can facilitate bespoke tours depending on the desires of the customer. The bespoke tours may include ancestral searches, specific clan sites, a spiritual pilgrimage, nature and wildlife and photography.
Argyll Safaris is owned and delivered by Rab Black.
Rab, a retired major from the Royal Army Physical Training Corps who formally served 7-years with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Rab has enjoyed a varied military career with numerous postings and appointments throughout the UK and abroad. Rab has enjoyed additional travel through his passion for adventure, leading and participating in many expeditions to the greater ranges. His second attempt on Mount Everest was thwarted by the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal and Tibet in 2015.
Argyll Safaris has been operational since he left the military in 2017. Rab, is keen to share with his guests from around the globe, the distinctive landscape and culture as well as the bloody and spiritual history of Argyll from the comfort of his Land Rover Discovery.
